The Sundarbans is the largest mangrove forest in the world and one of the wildest, least known environments in southern Asia. Located in the delta formed by the confluence of Ganges, Brahmaputra and Meghna Rivers in the Bay of Bengal, the Sundarbans extends over an area of 10,000 sq km. Two-thirds of the Sundarbans is located in Bangladesh and the rest is in India. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is also designated a wetland site of international importance under the Ramser Convention.
The Sundarbans is the home of 104 Royal Bengal Tigers, 30,000 spotted deer, 35 species of reptiles (including large cobras and pythons and eight species of amphibians), 300 species of birds, 120 species of fish, 42 species of animals, numerous river dolphins, wild boars, claw-less otters, monkeys and salt-water crocodiles together with many other species of wildlife. Hundreds of river, creeks and canals are the veins of the forest; making it a pristine environment.
Our Sundarbans tour will take you deep inside the forest, to experience this magical environment, for three full days. Unlike other tour operators in Bangladesh, we organize this tour with our guests through some exclusive parts of the forest where maximum chances of wildlife spotting opportunities for our guests and provides an exclusive experience away from the regular tourists in the forest.
This tour starts and ends at Khulna, which is located on the edge of the forest.
Our guide will meet you at the Jailkhana Ghat, Khulna at 7:00 H, transfer you to our waiting boat, and head toward Sundarbans immediate after boarding. Breakfast will be served on the boat. On the way to Sundarbans you will enjoy the beauty of riverine run through our history and folklore. As the river surrenders itself to the ocean, what is inside the river moves inside you. Within 3 to 4 hours (depending on tide/fog) of starting the journey you’ll be inside the forest. Spot on a forest station on the way to complete formalities, and continue toward Kochikhali. We’ll go through many canals and rivers with our vessel, where there is a great chance to spot many wildlife. Spot at Harbaria Eco Park and walk on its 01 hour trail for the first experience of Sundarbans. People on day tours at Sundarbans end up visiting up to this point, doing which we never recommend. Before sunset, explore a small canal on a noiseless woken row-boat in search of wildlife. They come to drink water in the evening and morning on the creeks and canals. You’ll seat on the boat quietly and float by on a breath-taking environment listening to many birds singing, and the calls of many animals. We’ll reach Kotka in the evening and stop for the night hold. Stay overnight on the boat anchoring in the middle of the river in front of Kotka forest station
After a leisurely breakfast the guide will offer a variety of activities, including an easy trek to the pristine beach facing the Bay of Bengal or a hike through the mangroves. In the early afternoon the boat will resume its cruise to Kochikhali (Tiger Point) where you will be offered another short walk in and around Kochikhali. Stay overnight on the boat anchoring in front of Kochikhali forest station
After having dinner on board you will disembark the boat and avail your opted mode of returning back to your place of living
Itinerary of this tour is just a general outline, and not fixed. It could be changed depending on the season moon phase, tide, daylight hours, and fog. But we’ll try to include all the places and activities mentioned in the itinerary as much as possible.

You should bear in mind that Bangladesh tends to have a conservative attitude towards dress. Women, and also to certain extent men, will find that the way they dress will often determine the degree of respect they receive from both men and women
ONLY place to buy local SIM card for the foreigners would be at the arrival lounge inside the airport (International Arrivals). You’ll find booths of all the mobile phone operators there. From them, you can buy a SIM card with talk time and data. Grameen Phone has the widest network coverage in the country. If you need a local SIM card, remember to buy from there during your arrival. It might be difficult to buy a local SIM card afterward
Tipping is common practice in Asia. In Bangladesh, most workers will expect a small tip, anything from 50 taka upwards depending on the service provided. At the end of the tour, if your principle guide, together with the boat crew have been helpful then you could think about tipping them. The amount can obviously be left to you
It is better to book this tour as early as possible. At least 06 weeks ahead is a good time to book the tour
